***NEW RELEASE***: "Sadie"

(Verse 1)
Country Lady Sadie, lately you been on my mind,
Got me contemplatin' relocatin' back down south sometime.
Cuz this northern hustlin' city life, ain't quite my cup-o-tea,
Shaded willow trees with you, out by the lake's where I should be.

I remember life was simple, had my Sadie next to me,
Till my line of work called me up north, so I set my Sadie free.
But it's only now I see, the only time I'm really me,
Is standin' next to she... My country lady Sadie...

(Chorus)
Fried chicken, collard greens and cornbread, sweet potatoes too.
Sweet lemonade and country shade and summertime with you.
We'll make love in fields of sweet magnolia, like we used to do.
Comin' back for my baby, my Sadie...

(Verse 2)
Now I done heard it from your cousin, ain't nobody caught your eye,
I wonder if your number's changed, I'm gon' give it a try.
I left my heart in Georgia and i can't remember why,
But now I'm coming back to tell her she's the peach of my eye...

{Deep and dirty south, yeeeeeah}

And thats how it should be,
I just hit I-85 and the peach trees welcome me.
I pray she takes me in her arms an takes me in her world,
Cuz i won't be with any other lady but my Sadie, baby...

(Chorus 2x)

(Breakdown 6x)

Sweet lady I’m on my way, I’m comin’ home to my love.

Said that I'm doin' 80, I'm drivin' crazy, comin' home to my Sadie

(Breakdown II 4x)

Sweet country Lady Sadie. O how I miss you Sweet country Sadie, Baby...

(Verse) Moses Muzek

Think I done found the recipe, gon’ cook it up girl you gon’ see,
Got the ingredients to satisfy your soul.
Gon’ take my time, girl that’s the key, and pour it all over you and me,
See, I guarantee I’ll have ya lickin’ out the bowl.

A drop of you to sweeten the taste, the sweetest sweet, just below ya waist,
As we stir it up and bring it to a simmer, don’t cook it too fast.
I see the hunger on ya face, and ever so slowly we speed up the pace,
As we reach a boil, I’m grabbin’ your… (AS we pull the recipe together)…

(Chorus)

I’m gon’ add a little ‘umph’ and little ‘whooooaa’,
Gon’ stir it up right on the floor,
And I’m gon’ have ya screamin’ “Do Me Baby”, “Ooooh give it to me”.

Now I’m gon’ add a little funk, a little “rock and roll”,
Gon’ add some jazz, gon’ add some soul,
And I’m gon’ have ya screamin’ “Do Me Baby”, “Ooooh give it to me”.

An Imaginary Interview w/ the Stars: "Music Fan First, Eric Roberson"

Good Life to you Muzek Lovers,

We are back with another one, and let me tell you, we have a great one today. This man alone changed the spelling of the word 'soul' altogether. It's now spelled "E...R...R...O".

Today we bring you none other than, Eric Roberson!!!

MosesMuzek: Welcome Welcome Good Sir! Eric, can I call you Erro?

Erro: "All my friends call me Erro... So you can call me Eric..." (Straight face)

awkward silence***

Erro: "Man come on, I'm kidding..."

MosesMuzek: "Oh, ye-yeah man... Haha.. I knew that. (sigh of relief) So muzek fans everywhere wanna know... When are you going to work with MosesMuzek? Hmmmmmm?"

Erro: "Wow.. just right into it huh? No build up? I thought this was an interview about me...
-Perhaps about my 'BES Pen & Pad Drive' where we ship your spare pens and pads to the youth in Afghanistan and everywhere:

Send pens & pads to:
Blue Erro Soul
P.O. Box 388
Mt. Holly, NJ 08060

-Thought maybe we were gonna talk about supporting my latest video "Still", tackling the issues of Breast Cancer Awareness:
Vote for it here on Centric's Top 20 Countdown (go to link)

-Or even about the 'Be A Humanitarian' project I was blessed to be a apart of in honor of those in Haiti...

But dag... 'When you gon' work with MosesMuzek' huh? I mean the least you could do is put up... i don't know... a blog or something that actually makes reference to those things important to me... You know, like even give an address and links etc... But oh well..."

MosesMuzek: (blank stare) "My apologies man..."

Erro: "Nah... It's cool brotha."

MosesMuzek: "Well I'd like to get into this music of yours man. You've become a MAJOR force in the 'Soul Movement' and are still an independent artist. How do you manage to do so much, and touch so many facets (singer, songwriter, producer, humanitarian, etc) while remaining independent?

Erro: "Well let me first say, you need NOTHING to be a Humanitarian. Nothing but a heart and soul. I've been truly blessed to be in the right place at the right time on many occasions with everything else."

MosesMuzek: "RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME!!!!?????? I'm gonna have to stop you there!!! You were blessed with the TALENTS first. Then the 'right place and right time'! Can't letcha answer that one like that bruh!!!"

Erro: (humble chuckle) "Well I appreciate that. I think humility is an integral part of success. Ofcourse an insane work/grind ethic and, as Big Boi would say, 'Hustle Blood' are key as well...

MosesMuzek: "Can my assistant get you something to drink?" (assistant comes back with a tray of quarter-waters with a demo CD as a coaster)...

Erro: "Whats this?"

MosesMuzek: "Oh... oh dat...? Dat uhhh... lemme see..." (Grabs CD and slides it into conveniently placed stereo... Speakers are conveniently setup right behind and beside Erro's chair) "Oh dat? Das nuthin... Just my muzek... Thats original... And for sale... And soulful... Yea, thats all......"

Erro: "Riiiiggghhttt.... Respect, respect. Hey look, make me out a copy sometime and mail it to...."

MosesMuzek: "Funny you should mention that... I just happen to have an extra 20 CDs just sitting here... Here, take them all...!"

Erro: "Wow..." (Chuckle)

MosesMuzek: "So anyway. Who would you say are some of your favorite compadres in the Soul Movement?"

Erro: "Well that list s fairly long, but I'd say off the top of my head... Marsha Ambrosius, the whole Roots crew, Ledisi, and after listening to these songs, I'm gonna have to say MosesMuzek!!! When can we start collabin'?!?!?!?!?!?

MosesMuzek: "Wow E... I'm flattered you like my sound man!!! Well Ladies and Gentlemen, We're gonna have to cut this session short cuz E and I are on the way to the studio to write some CLASSICS!!!

Thank you to Eric Roberson and Blue Erro Soul for ALL you do and be on the look out for the hits Erro's coming with next... Good chance I wrote some of them!!!!!!!!!!!! (crossed fingers in hope)"

An Imaginary Interview w/ the Stars: "Sir Lucious Leftfoot - The Son Of Chico Dusty", Big Boi

MosesMuzek
: "How do music lovers"
We are here with our first ever exclusive 'Imaginary Interview w/ the Stars'!!! Today we have what I refer to as one of the innovators of 'Duurty South Music'. Some call him 'Daddy Fat Sax'; some call him 'Sir Lucious Leftfoot'; and yet and still, others know him as 'Billy Ocean' (the new one)... Regardless of the moniker, he's known by all to be 'cooler than a polar bears toe nails'.

Today I'm sitting next to the one, the only Big Boi. One part of the two man dynamo 'OutKast', THE man behind 'Purple Ribbon Records', and one of the originators of 'The Dungeon Family'.
Father, husband, rapper, actor, CEO, and over all cool ass, Big Boi!!! Welcome!"

Big Boi: "Stank ya smelly much, stank you smelly much..."

MosesMuzek: "So we gon' get right into it man. How does it feel to be revered as one of the founders, if you will, of down south hip-hop?"

Big Boi: "Well damn cuz (laughter), I don't really think I see myself as... well, yeah you prolly right! (laugther)...

I mean, I'd say it this way, we were the first to get attention down here, na'am ta'am' bat?"

MosesMuzek: "Ummm, do I what?"

Big Boi: "na'am ta'am' bat?"

MosesMuzek: "Is that Swahili oooor...?"

Big Boi: "Nah shawty, look hea... nahhm taaam bat...."

MosesMuzek: "Uhhh... ok.. Oh wait! 'Know what I'm talking about...' I see I see!!!"

Big Boi: "Boooi Stoooop (laugther)"

MosesMuzek: "Sorry Big, I was born in College Park, but grew up in an Illinois suburb (laughter)"

Big Boi: "Maan you from Calli Pak an' you can't undastan' 'na'am ta'am' bat'??? How bat this "Do you know what I am talking about brethren? please pass the Grey Poupon"

MosesMuzek: "Ok Ok Ok, I think Big is clownin' me y'all (laughter)"

Big Boi: "But nah man, as far as the south man you had innovators like UGK, you had us and the whole Dungeon Fam, uhh, Ghetto Boyz and Scarface, umm, then you had like 8Ball and MJG... So I mean it's a blessin' to do what I do and to be put as an innovator amongst folks of that... that caliber, you know."

MosesMuzek: "Mos Def man. and honestly, come on Big... you know you are on a level with the big leagues man. Not JUST in the south but of all time."

Big Boi: "Booooi Stop!!! You lookin' for a record deal or somethin pimpin'? (Laughter)"

MosesMuzek: "Naaaah... UNLESS YA GON' DO IT!!!! (www.myspace.com/mosesmuzek)
(slips Big the demo...)
So moving on...
Music, Acting, Producing, and even a Ballet... Whats next on the menu sir?"

Big Boi: "State secret Patna. If I tol' ya I'd have ta end ya life boooi...
Nah, but best believe we gon change the USA to the USS, United States of Stankonia!"

MosesMuzek: "So I don't buy CDs anymore and I'm sure most don't, but the other day I downloaded your latest off iTunes. Man, I damn near broke my nck when General PAtton came on! I'd have to say my favorite is the first single though, 'Shutterbug'. How do you feel this project differs from those in the past?"

Big Boi: "Well that answer has duality. Its very different than anything I've ever been a part of, yet it's just the same ole me. On this one I did get the chance to show some newer faces. I got this group Vonnegutt. They a four man band and ridiculous. They definitely hip-hop. It ain't dead man. These boys are the bridge between that hip-hop and your alternative-rock feel you know? We also got my folk Yelawolf on there outta Bama. (Laughter) I don't think folk ready for Yela! But I feel like this album is the same ole me like I said."

MosesMuzek: "Ok so as an OutKast fan from day zero, you KNOW the next question right? So when is the next album droppin'?"

Big Boi: "Oh nah young buck, I can't give ya everythang play boi! (laughter) Nah man, not tryin' to give the bootleggas a heads up. Y'all just gon' have ta keep ya eyes and ears open! But it's comin' the bless the planet soon enough!"

MosesMuzek: "Aight aight, guess thats fair..."

Big Boi: "Das ya only choice patna! (laughter)"

MosesMuzek: "So Big, you lookin' for a soul singer to add to the fold? I wouldn't call it 'neo-soul persay... just SOUL (www.myspace.com/mosesmuzek) (http://mosesmuzek.bandcamp.com/)"

Big Boi: "Yeah, uuhhh, I may have to check that out sometime playa.."

MosesMuzek: "Riiiiiight... Not the first time I've heard that so check, I got the iPod right here!"

(5 minutes elapse)

Big Boi: "My booi... You got a pen, cuz I need you ta sign dis here contract right quick! Whatchu tryin' ta do?"

MosesMuzek: "Well my #one love is writing but if you need ME to cut an album for myself... Well, I guess that'll work... What are you kidding me!!!??? I'll do whatever you need me to!!! Sing, write, sing and write!!!"

Big Boi "Ok first, breathe playa! Aiight, so wheres that pen?"

(months later, you find yourself looking in the song credits of songs from Anthony Hamilton, Dwele, Jon Bibbs, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Beyonce, Keri Hilson, etc. and you see next to 'written by', MosesMuzek)

Ahhhh... What a great interview for my first!!!

Shoutout to Big Boi and Purple Ribbon for the opportunity!!!

Oh, and incase you didn't read the obvious, this interview was IMAGINARY! Don't leave a comment assuming is was fake, cuz I already SAID it was!!!

Love Makin' Muzek: The Greatest Love Songs Of All Time

Now the obvious answer to the question, "What are the Top 20 Love Songs Ever Made?", is that there aren't merely 20... To each his own and this becomes a list that once you've completed, you remember another that you didn't list, then another, and another... That's the beauty of music... But for fun sake, and to waste a lil time, I'll try to tackle this Goliathian Query (So, I made a term up biblically referencing a Philistine Giant just to make the point that it's a BIG question... And?) myself...

Please leave your list in the comments!
(IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

1.) "Scandalous" -Prince
2.) "Say Yes" - Floetry
3.) "Freakin' "- Jodeci
4.) "Slowly" - Tank
5.) "Ordinary Love" - Sade
6.) "Creepin' " - Stevie
7.) "Simply Beautiful" - Al Green
8.) "Seems Like You're Ready" - R. Kelly
9.) "Love Scene (Ooh Baby)" - Janet Jackson
10.) "I'd Rather Be With You" - Bootsy
11.) "More and More" - Brian McKnight
12.) "Moments In Love" - Art of Noise
13.) "Tempo Slow" - R. Kelly
14.) "Die Without You" - PM Dawn
15.) "Lick" - Joi
16.) "Freak Me" - Silkk
17.) "All My Love" - 112
18.) "Sweet Love" - 112
19.) "MAy The Force Be With You" - Bootsy
20.) "Top Of The Mawnin' " - MosesMuzek (Oh come on... You didn't think I wasn't going to put my own stuff on here did you, lol?)

Now obviously there are a million I missed that I myself would put on the list before these, but it's just the first 20 you can think of!

Whats yours?

Too Much Love???

So I'm a love balladeer... I can't help it! I start out a song with the specific goal of NOT making it about love. Whether it be about new love, love lost, tainted love, unexpected love, etc etc etc, I try to stay away from it. I really do. But somehow 90% of the things I write lean back to the 'L' word. Is it just because it's easier to write about? Am I just a hopeless romantic? Is it that it's so easy to rhyme 'lady' and 'baby'? Could be a mixture of all... Who knows...

But regardless... Am I wrong? I mean does making one more love song hurt anyone? Does another musical poem of a man unable to breathe without 'her' somehow harm music? I'm of the opinion that there is quite enough already 'harming' real music. Recycled lyrics, more care for the track/beat (no offense producers) than about the actual message, LACK of a message, etc...

So do majority of my songs curve toward metaphoric expressions, comparing 'she' to moonlight and a sparkling strawberry wine? Or 'she' to endless pain and a slow, repetitive, mythological torture? Maybe...

But that's me... I won't apologize... Why should I? I have depth in writing, but the Love Song was my first...

Big Ups to Love...

REVIEW: Alicia Keys, "Unthinkable"

In conversation with my sister the other day, we'd gotten into conversation about muzek (a normal conversation piece) and the topic of Alicia Keys came up.

"Yo!, Unthinkable has to be arguably the best Alicia Keys song she's ever dropped!" says my sister.
I'd had yet to hear it, but I thought for sure there wasn't something that could have topped "You Don't Know My Name" or the interlude "Feelin' You, Feelin' Me"...
So I checked it out...

My synopsis:
An immediate purchase! The track itself is composed of a few simple, but dark chords and a somewhat simplistic drum line, which, in my opinion, make up some of the best songs of all time. I managed to track down the instrumental just to listen to and it feels like a purple cloud sunset, driving with the top down in some beach town, but no one else is on the road. Then you marry the sultry and sometimes raspy (raspy in her case is VERY good) voice of Ms. Keys and you've got a song of forbidden love. And no, I'm not getting that from the video. From the lyrics, they could be the couple about to run away together, or kind of a Bonnie and Clyde crime couple, or (as the video indicates) two people that no one else wants to be together from different 'sides of the track'.

All and all, I agree with my sister. POSSIBLY the best A. Keys song out...

I'm told Drake wrote it, but I don't know for sure.

Welcome: I Am MosesMuzek

Let's talk muzek... I mean everything muzek. Today's muzek, yesterday's muzek, 'mainstream', 'indie', the effects of muzek on society, on sex, on law, laws having to do with muzek, etc etc etc...
